Not so long ago, it was difficult to ignore the buzz online about Twitter marketing tools. It was considered that you could use Twitter as an effective way to build a list of potential purchasers for your products or services. But the question is, were any of those MLM business tools that were sold, actually doing you any good? I was one of those who was curious to determine if getting a large Network Marketing following on Twitter was going to help my product promotion endeavors and so bought the tools. Not only did I shell out money to join programs that would get me followers but I invested in a number of softwares to help promote the products I was selling. By the time I’d finished, I’d paid for something like eight programs to do some of the grunt work involved in Twitter marketing.

The first program I bought allowed me to automatically follow people in the hopes that they would then return the favor and follow me. If anyone was not following me, I had another tool that would automatically remove them from my to-follow list. This would allow me to follow various individuals once again to get them to follow me. Along with some other software that are not actually worth bringing up, I paid for a program that would automatically take my blog posts and automatically Tweet them as soon as they were published on my blog. Initially, I was really pleased with the end results after using the programs in combination because they truly delivered on what they promised. But as soon as it looked like I wasn’t generating any money, my initial exuberance was soon squashed. Daily I would post more or less ten blog entries knowing that they would then automatically be shown on Twitter also. Then I discovered a way to have all the blog posts done for me automatically, thinking that the more posts I would have the more people who would see them.

Now allow me to share with you my results. Utilizing this strategy over three years resulted in about ten thousand people following me on Twitter. And while you may think that is terrific, just wait. Also in the past three years I have had more than 15,000 of my blog posts that were promoting affiliate products tweeted to my Twitter account. My blog posts displaying on Twitter was the only kind of advertising for that blog I did and to determine the effectiveness of Twitter I did not even ping new posts as they were published. Well, you can’t say that 3 years isn’t long enough to obtain modest results but using Twitter I just got 2 – 4 visitors daily to my blog. My affiliate earnings from 2 transactions was $47 and to that you can add $8.65 Adsense revenue – pretty dismal all around!

Despite me utilizing software to make the job more effortless and getting roughly 10,000 followers on Twitter, I still could not turn a decent profit using Twitter marketing for my blog. The bottom line is that the money I’ve pulled in is not enough to cover the cost of the Twitter programs I purchased to start with. Last, I cannot personally recommend using automatic software tools as an effective means of promoting on Twitter.
