Does wine really have benefits to your health? Isn’t it just like any bear that it has alcohol content that you will get liver disease from and among other disease that might harm you? Although wine has alcohol content, it has health benefits and they are wonderful effects that are good for you if you drink the proper amount each day. For one, if drinking wine in moderation each day instead of heavy drinking over the weekend, you can thin your blood and raise good cholesterol.

It also has flavanoids and resveratrol in its contents which are used as antioxidants which have the function of preventing free-radical molecules to cause damage to your body cells. Resveratrol also has been proven to prevent aterial plaque formation and blood clots that would form by altering plasma viscosity and lipid profiles. It also reduces the occurence of tumors through affecting the cancer development stages. This is why resveratrol is important making wine have its health benefits. Red wine has more resveratrol content than white wine.
Other health benefits include the prevention of the bacteria streptococcus mutans. This is a cavity-causing bateria that has the ability to adhere to the enamel of teeth. Red wine polyphenols can help prevent and treat gum disease as well. Wine also reduces the incidence of ALzheimer’s disease by hindering the memory deterioration through resveratrol and other components of wine. Another one would be supporting the health of the prostate, lowering the cancer risk for the lungs as well as a decreased risk for getting Barrett’s esophagus that indicates cancer of the esophagus.
All of these are benefits of wine but you should only drink at least one to two servings a day. For women to get the maximum benefits, one glass a day should be enough. Wine is not something you should avoid, rather it is something you should add to your diet as it would give you health benefits you need to be able to fight off some diseases as well as prevent them. Always remember though to drink in moderation.
